Conclusion of the survey conducted across degree college

subjects -teachers

According Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is most often displayed as a pyramid. The lowest levels of the pyramid are made up of the most basic needs , , while the more complex needs are located at the top of the pyramid.
such as Physiological Needs Security Needs Social Needs, Esteem Needs Self-actualizing Needs
our survey concludes that applying maslovs hierarchy of needs almost 80%of the teachers are progressing up the pyramid, since the needs become increasingly psychological and social. Hence the need for love, friendship and intimacy become important. Therefore most of them are aiming up the pyramid for the need of personal esteem and feelings of accomplishment take priority at this stage of their life
Since maslow stated that human beings are motivated by unsatisfied needs, and that certain lower factors need to be satisfied before higher needs can be satisfied. our subjects that are degree college teachers have accomplished the lower level of maslows pyramid with years of experience and status and fulfillment's of small basic needs such as secured job in an recognized institution and govt.salary.no problem of retirement and proper shelter .happy family so their search begins for , concerned with personal growth, less concerned with the opinions of others and interested fulfilling their potential.
Now while analyzing them on Frederick Hertzberg
According to his theory, people are influenced by two sets of factors: Motivator Factors and Hygiene Factors .by applying Hertzberg dual theory we conclude that teachers are dissatisfied by a bad environment, but they are seldom made satisfied by a good environment. Certain teachers are highly motivated in their work but are dissatisfied with his work environment. These 60 % of teachers are highly motivated by
Achievement
• Recognition
• Work Itself
• Responsibility
• Promotion
• Growth

hygiene factors are equally important, although their frequency of occurrence differs considerably among teachers these 40% of them are motivated or rather satisfied in the organization due these hygiene factors - Company policy and administration, Wages, salaries and other financial remuneration, Quality of supervision, Quality of inter-personal relations, Working conditions, Feelings of job security.

Applying charleshandys teachings on the teachers is that motivation, roles and interactions, leadership, power and influence, the workings of groups and the culture of organizations. Amongst the teachers there were few who were head of the dept. and possessed the quality of club culture where one mans rule works …almost 40% of them are essential to the continuity of the organization, and have detailed knowledge of it, and of its aims, objectives and practices. They are rewarded with high salaries and associated benefits, in return for which they must be prepared to give commitment, to work hard and to work, if necessary, long hours 60% of colleges followed this culture:that assumptions of the people are rational, and that roles of the teachers ans staff can be defined and discharged with clearly defined procedures orders and rules .They display stability and certainty, and have great strength in situations marked by continuity; In most of the colleges power lies in the centre i.e. authority then exerted downwards and outwards.
Application of McClelland theory on our survey
He stated that that human motivation, is dominated by three needs the need for achievement the need for power and the need for affiliation
Almost 78 %said Being appreciated and “need to be liked in the organization is more important while only 22 %said :Being given the right status matter to them
So we see the need for affiliation is more than the need for power when your talking about degree colleges While
few teachers did admit the fact that need to achieve, excel and succeed is equally important in today’s competitive world
So no matter how much one would divulge his\her personal motivational level we conclude by the survey taken each one of us whether its teachers, students ,laborers ,big organizations or even small kids everyone is motivated in a different way toward some achievements or rather satisfactions in life.

seeing the good side

i just thought about this story while travelling in the train today.it conveys a very strong notion of optimism especially if your working in an organisation

A landscape gardener ran a business that had been in the family for two or three generations. The staff were happy, and customers loved to visit the store, anything from bedding plants to ride-on mowers.

For as long as anyone could remember, the current owner and previous generations of owners were extremely positive happy people.

Most folk assumed it was because they ran a successful business.
In fact it was the other way around...

A tradition in the business was that the owner always wore a big lapel badge, saying Business Is Great!
The business was indeed generally great, although it went through tough times like any other. What never changed however was the owner's attitude, and the badge saying Business Is Great!

Everyone who saw the badge for the first time invariably asked, "What's so great about business?" Sometimes people would also comment that their own business was miserable, or even that they personally were miserable or stressed.

Anyhow, the Business Is Great! badge always tended to start a conversation, which typically involved the owner talking about lots of positive aspects of business and work, for example:

the pleasure of meeting and talking with different people every day
the reward that comes from helping staff take on new challenges and experiences
the fun and laughter in a relaxed and healthy work environment
the fascination in the work itself, and in the other people's work and businesses
the great feeling when you finish a job and do it to the best of your capabilities
the new things you learn every day - even without looking to do so

This poem Depicts the power of the mind and the determination to believe what you can be!!

Lets start with the famous quote- by Michelangelo:

"The greatest danger for us is not that our aim is too high and we will miss it, but that it is too low and we will reach it."

The Man Who Thinks He Can
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellows will;
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or late the man who wins is the
one who thinks he can.

Am sure this poem that i have shared with you'll will leave u thinking .I have always related my self to it and it has motivated me to a certain extent.I have seen people giving up so soon and they find 100 reason not to stand up from their failures though life is unfair to most of us you can just be stuck with that phrase ..life though unfair can give you 101 reasons that can make you rebuild your broken path.you need to some times be calm ,think positive and ignite the fire of motivation in you to rise up from that sad phase to a happier one

i just thought about some 5 way that can help you motivate yourself
1]Know your own mind !!
2]Dropping past memories \failures
3]Take time for yourself
4]Keep your mind active and open for success and rejections
5]start writing in your diary now!!!
